A Concept Without a Floor Standard Is Just a Good Idea Waiting to Disappoint Someone.
Retail Moment ● May 14
I walked Michaels today with a graduating senior at home and a party in the works.
What I found was two visits in one store.
The first fixture was excellent. Fully stocked graduation product. Clean wood crate presentation. Right assortment. Solid price. Right place in the store.
Then I kept walking.
Empty shelves. Dirty fixtures. Out-of-stocks across the graduation section. The highest-volume weeks of the selling season and the store isn’t ready.
The same store. Same aisle. Same celebration.
Right now, at Michaels, the strategy showed up. The floor did not.
