Retail in Real Time
Iโve been writing consistently on LinkedIn for 6+ months because I believe retail deserves sharper conversations in a few underserved areas. Itโs been energizing to see the growing engagement and thoughtful discussions these pieces have sparked. Store format/design, space planning, visual merchandising, and the customer experience are what turn a brand into more than four walls.
But thereโs only so much room there. Thatโs why Iโve also started writing on Substack, where I can go deeper into what I see in stores and why it matters.
When I write here, I hold myself to a standard Ann Handley laid out in โEverybody Writesโ:
โข ๐จ๐๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐: I share practical takeaways that help retail leaders improve store experiences, guide design decisions, and elevate brand storytelling.
โข ๐๐ป๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป: Every article is anchored in the details I see in stores, but itโs also creatively framed to spark new thinking. I want readers to look at retail moments differently after they finish.
โข ๐๐บ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐: I write with the retailer, store associates, retail leadership, and the shopper in mind. My work starts with their perspective, because thatโs where real impact comes from.
Just over ๐ญ% ๐ผ๐ณ ๐บ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐๐ป ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ has already subscribed to my Substack. And yes, that is a fairly small number so far! If you join, youโll likely be in the ๐๐ผ๐ฝ ๐ฎ% engaging with these deeper dives. And really, who doesnโt strive to be in the top 2% of whatever they do?
โก๏ธ Thanks in advance for subscribing. I appreciate it so much and welcome the conversation these articles drive.
Iโll keep sharing on LinkedIn, but Substack is where the full perspective lives.
